CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A beautiful start to the work week, as we've seen plenty of afternoon sunshine today with highs back in the mid- to- upper 70s over much of South Texas.

Believe it or not, we actually had a weak frontal boundary move through early this morning that essentially just gave us a quick wind shift to the north for a few hours. Southeasterly winds will eventually take over again by tomorrow afternoon.

In the meantime, dew points are settling in the low- to- mid 50s, pretty close to our overnight low temperature, and that will result is some patchy fog across the region. Our inland communities will be especially affected. Visibility could drop below a mile in some locations, so be cautious if you have overnight and early-morning travels. Expect some fog to begin forming around midnight and stay to through the mid-morning commute and eventually burn off with sunrise.

Tuesday still looks to be a dynamite day with lots of sunshine, higher humidity and warmer temperatures with an afternoon high of 81 in Corpus Christi. Wind: SE 6-12 MPH

Winds will begin to increase to windy levels Wednesday and stay that way until Thursday. This will be in response to the next front moving through the Rockies. It also means extra cloud coverage for us, but little in the way of rainfall outside of a few light showers/sprinkles. However, the warm afternoon highs in the low 80s will stick around.

Friday, in the late afternoon to the early evening, the cold front will sweep into South Texas. It will have a few isolated showers, but most of the action is forecast to be north of us around the Victoria Crossroads and in East Texas. For now, looks like a few tenths of an inch at best in spotty locations here in the Coastal Bend.

The weekend looks great with cooler and drier air filtering in. Lows will drop in the mid- to- upper 40s, and highs will be cool in the upper 60s under lots of sunshine.
