Temperatures increase above normal before front arrives early next week

We still have a little bit of some dry air across South Texas this morning, but southeasterly winds this afternoon will begin to increase moisture levels and the humidity will be on the rise.

Today, look for decent cloud coverage with temperatures near seasonal average in the mid to upper 80s and a passing shower.  Winds will be on the breezy side around 9-18MPH.

Tonight becoming mainly cloudy and not nearly as cool as previous mornings with a low of 76.

Michael has become post-tropical and will eject into the Atlantic later this afternoon.  Our interest shifts over to Tropical Storm Sergio near Baja California.  Sergio will move over Mexico and eventually into West Texas and bring rainfall for those residents.  Here in South Texas it will increase our southwesterly flow and temperatures will shoot up in the low 90s for the weekend.

We’ll see some passing showers Saturday and Sunday as Sergio washes out in the Panhandle.

Then a strong cold front is still forecast to move through the Central Plains and make it to South Texas on Monday during the late morning to midday hours.  The high of the day will be early and then temperatures will tumble for the remainder of the afternoon as the front will arrive with moderate to heavy showers and thundershowers, plenty of wind and much cooler temperatures.

With southwesterly winds still moving in the upper-levels we’ll an overrunning pattern on Tuesday and Wednesday which will lead the cold air trapped near the surface along with mainly overcast skies and light to moderate showers with highs only in the 60s.

The sun will try to break out some by Thursday of next week.
