The Corpus Christi IceRays are playing their best hockey of the season right now. They have now won eight straight games and are 9-1 in their last ten games.
A big part of their success, goaltender Sam Best. Best received the NAHL South Division Star of the Week award for his stellar play last week. But he says that winning games is more important than winning awards.
“I’m trying to focus on wins you know that is all that matters right now,” Best said. ” We won eight games so we just really care about points right now climbing the standings and seeing where that takes us.”
The IceRays are currently in second place in the South Division and hit the road this weekend to take on the Shreveport Mudbugs.
