On Tuesday, the Texas Senate passed a bill to raise the age to buy tobacco products to 21, with the exception of active military.

The bill called SB 21 passed with 20-11 votes in the Senate, with the noted exception of 18 and up military members to buy tobacco products with valid military identification.

The Texas Tribune reports that Texas 21, an organization committed to raising the tobacco-purchasing age to 21, believes that the amendment for the military does not adequately line up with their mission.
