A Florida dog, discovered last month with his mouth taped shut, is now deputized and ready to report for service.

According to Lee County’s Sheriff Office in Florida, Chance was recently deputized and deputies say the pup is eager to get his paws dirty looking for criminals.

According to WFLA, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that the dog was found last month. Chance was dehydrated, appeared malnourished, and was bleeding from wounds on his left arm and chest.

He has since recovered judging by the pic released by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. It also looks like he has a bone to pick to find the person who shut his mouth taped shut.

When asked to describe his first day on duty, Deputy Chance stated, “ruff.”
