Program offers free vehicle emissions tests for public

Experts continue to encourage drivers to do their part to keep our air clean by checking their vehicle emissions for free.

The AutoCheck program held an event at the Garcia Arts and Education Center. Workers were on hand to measure pollutants from vehicles and let drivers know how their cars are performing.

Program employees say it only takes minutes to find out if your vehicle is running clean or is emitting pollutants that can lead to costly repairs or community health issues. Qualifying vehicles may also be eligible for free repairs.

The AutoCheck program is co-sponsored by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the Port of Corpus Christi. Another event will be held on Tuesday on the TAMU-CC campus. You can find the details by clicking here to visit the AutoCheck web site.
