While our new city manager continues to settle into his position, he’s added a significant staff member to his office. Peter Zanoni has hired a chief of staff.
His name is Michael Rodriguez and he was introduced at this week’s city council meeting. Rodriguez worked with Zanoni in San Antonio and he says his primary responsibilities will be to help the city manager implement his priorities.
“I’m working with the city manager and three assistant city managers on developing the top priorities for all the departments in the city. and once we develop that list, I’m going to compile the list and I’ll be responsible for ensuring that we complete all those priorities in a timely manner.” Rodriguez told us.
Although it’s a common practice in other cities Zanoni is the first city manager to have a chief of staff here.
Rodriguez says that streets and water are already on the priority list.
