Calling all corgis! First ever Corpus Christi corgi convention

The first ever Corpus Christi Corgi Convention is taking place on Saturday, June 15 at 1:00 p.m.

The adorable, stumpy dogs will be gathering on JP Luby Beach at mile marker 203.

The event all started with local corgi owner Alissa Bowman. Alissa and her two corgis, Askker and Colby, wanted to meet up with other South Texas corgis.

What she thought would be a normal play date, has turned into a huge gathering.

“I was just creating what I thought would be a small meet up but it kinda just exploded over night.”

Alissa said around 2,000 people have marked “interested” on the Facebook page and over 600 have RSVP’d.

The event will include a Corgi costume contest, “Best Corgi Bum” contest, best talent or trick contest, raffles and prizes.

The Facebook page is flooded with pictures of Corgis who are ready to party on the beach with their new Corgi friends.
