A new cycling program is being offered to those diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Instructors at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club are starting a new cycling program for people diagnosed with that disease.

Parkinson’s is a neurological disease that affects your movements.

Research has shown regular aerobic exercise might reduce the risk and help ease the impact of the disease.

Cheryl Martinez, a cycling instructor at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club, said, “It is actually proven if they do force exercise and they get the speed up to 80 to 90 RPM, it decreases the progression of the symptoms by 35 percent.”

Instructors say if you are not a member of the club, they do have some non-member plans for you so you could take these cycling classes.
