The Texas Medical Board has suspended a local medical doctor’s license.

According to a press release issued by the Texas Medical Board, on March 1, 2019, the board and Dr. Michael Pendleton entered into an agreed order to suspect Pendleton’s Texas medical license.

In April 2018, Pendleton pleaded guilty to one felony count of furnishing false information on dispensed controlled substances records. In July 2018, Pendleton was sentenced to five years probation.

The Texas Medical Board also placed Pendleton on probation. He cannot obtain controlled substances without board approval, treat patients for either acute or chronic pain or allow his physician assistant to write prescriptions.

Dr. Pendleton has been the subject of several 6 Investigates reports where we found people camping outside of his office on Weber Road early in the morning. Many said they were trying to get appointments in order to get pain medication.
