The South Gate at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi is closed due to police activity.

According to NASCC, at about 2:45 p.m. base security personnel stopped a truck at the base’s Commercial Vehicle Inspection Gate that had a Be On The Look Out alert attached to it.

A military working dog alerted to the vehicle, and the driver was detained.

The base says a perimeter has been established, and as a result, the Main Gate has been closed.

NASCC is directing all incoming and outgoing base traffic to the North Gate on Ocean Drive.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi has issued a Code Blue warning faculty of traffic delays due to the closure.

TAMU-CC Code Blue: NAS-CC has experienced a partial closure. You may experience heavy traffic delays near campus. We will provide updates if we receive additional information that affects campus.
