Longtime Corpus Christi and Nueces County leader dies at 61

The Coastal Bend community today is mourning the loss of a longtime city and county leader David Noyola.

David Noyola passed away early Thursday morning from complications following quadruple bypass surgery.

Noyola served as a Corpus Christi city councilman, a Nueces County Commissioner and was instrumental in getting Laguna Park renamed to Molina Veterans Park.

“He was fearless,” said his brother Danny Noyola. “Even when he got elected to city council and county commissioner, just fearless. He always spoke truth to power.”

David Noyola leaves behind four children and several grandchildren. He was 61.
