Are you, or do you know someone that has made an amazing impact in the Corpus Christi community?

The Young Business Professionals are looking for individuals to help continue making the Coastal Bend community an amazing place to live.

The Young Business Professionals of the Coastal Bend is an organization founded by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in partnership with the City of Corpus Christi, the Port of Corpus Christi, all of which have a shared vision of retaining young professionals in the area to generate opportunities for the development of South Texas.

The local organization is committed to improving our city and its workforce by promoting educational and professional advancement among emerging business leaders.

Whether you’re interested in leadership, development, education, social networking, or volunteering, YBP has it all.  Some of its signature events include the Superhero Dinner, which is happening this month, networking events, ideas week, and Corpus Christi under 40, which it’s currently taking applications for right now.

The public is welcome to come to any of their opening meetings. They have meetings every second Tuesday of each month at the House of Rock.

You can become a member of YBP and enjoy a range of benefits like networking with others in the community and increasing your opportunities as a young professional.

You can be in any industry;education, health care, or technology. It is those individuals with the perseverance and determination that create culture and opportunity for others in our community.

For more information about upcoming events you can find them on Facebook @YBPCB and their website at ybpcb.com.

The organization seeks to give young professionals the opportunity to meet and grow their business network through events, activities and mentorships with established leaders in the community, and represent the future of the Coastal Bend.

Each year individuals are awarded recognition through a nomination and scoring process. In addition, one of these persons is honored as the “Person of the Year.” This goes to a member of the CCU40 honorees who is a near-perfect example of a true hard-working professional, both in terms of their career and service to the Coastal Bend community.

Corpus Christi Under 40 exists to honor the men and women who have dedicated their time and effort in making a difference in Corpus Christi.

CCU40 is dedicated to not only recognizing outstanding Corpus Christi citizens, but also for the betterment of our community.

CCU40 is an event honoring the accomplishments of men and women under 40 years of age who have made significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through service in the community.

The event not only raised awareness of our young professional community but it will also give a percentage of its proceeds to charity.

Super Hero Dinner

Every year, YBP honors one outstanding member of the community. This “Superhero” works tirelessly to make Corpus Christi a better place.

Our past recipients include Mayor Joe Adame, State Representative Todd Hunter, Dr. Flavius Killebrew, Ms. Rosie Collin, Mr. Gabe Guerra, and Ms. Barbara Canales.

This year, we are excited to announce that we will be honoring Philip Ramirez, President of Turner Ramirez Architects, as this year’s Superhero. Mr. Ramirez has served this community, and has been a vital mentor for our young professional organization.

Proceeds of this event will benefit the Young Leader Endowment ensuring that young business professionals always have a voice in Corpus Christi.

The SuperHero Dinner will take place on Thursday, January 31st at the Solomon Ortiz Center. For tickets please you can call 361-825-2352 or Facebook at @YBPCB.
