Preparations are underway at the American Bank Center for the 30th Annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing.

More than 10,000 people are expected to turn out to enjoy a traditional holiday meal during the community event.

Filled with food, music, activities and good cheer, H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing is open to the public and brings together family, friends and neighbors from across the Coastal Bend.

“The Feast of Sharing gives us a wonderful opportunity to bring communities together to break bread, enjoy one another’s company and get the holiday season off to a beautiful start,” said Danny Flores, H-E-B Senior Manager of Public Affairs. “It’s our way of saying thank you to our community for their continued support, year after year.”

During the free community event, hundreds of volunteers will serve a feast to more than 10,000 Coastal Bend residents. The menu will include glazed ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and apple pie. Guests will enjoy live entertainment and a variety of activities throughout the day.

Additionally, H-E-B pharmacists will provide free flu shots to guests.

This year’s event is on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall.

The H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners were founded in 1988 and are a part of H-E-B’s Food Bank Assistance Program, which works year-round to prevent hunger. Today, 30 dinners are held across Texas and in Mexico, with more than 250,000 meals served to communities.
