Students at West Oso got a chance today to learn about job opportunities in the medical field.

The South Coastal Area Health Education Center partners with the Hammons Education Leadership Program to promote medical training for students after graduation.

At today’s event, students learned about the urgent need for nurses, doctors, physical therapists and other roles in the medical field.

Students say they’re excited to join the workforce as healthcare professionals after graduation.

“I like helping people,” said student Samara Campbell. “The thought of being medically smart is a cool thing.”

Both organizations say they want to connect students with jobs, and offer tours, hands-on training and a summer program at Del Mar College.
