A 16-year-old juvenile gave himself up and was taken into custody after barricading himself in a home on the city’s north side this afternoon.
According to police, officers were approaching a group of people when one ran away and into a home near Winnebago and Josephine streets.
Police said the juvenile had an outstanding warrant. He ran from police and went into the home, which was not where he lived.
The residents inside were able to make it out without incident.
CCPD SWAT units appeared at the scene.
