The Miller High School R.O.T.C. Program hosted a special Veterans Day ceremony this morning in the school gym.

Several veterans attended the special event, including Judge Joe Benavides. He served in the Marine Corps for 21 years and is a Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran.

Judge Benavides said he was touched by the ceremony put together by the School’s R.O.T.C. members.

“It’s pretty neat that you have these young people connected with the veterans.” Judge Benavides added “If anyone out there does see a veteran, thank them for their service to our country. You know we live in a very powerful, beautiful country and it’s because of our veterans that served in the military.”

Judge Joe Benavides served in the Marine Corps for 21 years.
