Gregory-Portland Independent School District has a new system to allow the public to report suspicious activity, bullying or any other student-related issues to district administration officials and school staff.

The Anonymous Alerts app allows for one or two-way, anonymous, encrypted communication between students, parents or community members and school district personnel.

According to the district, users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

The Anonymous Alert app is available for download from both the Apple Store and Google Play app stores, and G-PISD says links to the reporting page are available on the homepage of every school website within the district.  Reports can also be submitted online from any device at http://www.anonymousalerts.com/gpisd.

G-PISD says the system will be monitored on school days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the school year, and any reports submitted after hours will be reviewed during the next scheduled school day.

The district says incidences of false reporting will be taken seriously to the fullest extent of the law, and advises users not to use the system to report issues requiring immediate assistance. In the event of an emergency, users should call 911.
