CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Gas prices are dropping across the Coastal Bend during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Murphy USA gas station in Calallen was offering unleaded gas for a $1.65 a gallon over the weekend.
Even though residents have been ordered to stay home unless they are perform ing essential tasks, many still traveling to and from work tell us the drop in price has helped their pocketbook.
"I still am working right now so I still have a trip over there and then whenever I can go to the store, so (I'm) using the gas for that," said customer Abigail Aguirre.
Other people we spoke with say the drop in gas prices helps as they're spending more to stock up on food and other important items during this pandemic.
