Robstown woman accused of killing common-law husband

A Robstown woman is facing murder charges after police say she stabbed her common-law husband.

Robstown police issued a news release stating officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Avenue C Sunday night.

When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Epimenio Cabrera with several stab wounds.

He was transported to the Corpus Christi Medical Center Northwest Regional Hospital and later died from his injuries, according to police.

Robstown investigators stated 45-year-old Maria Cabrera was arrested by Robstown police on a murder charge and transported to the Nueces County Jail.

Her bond is set at $75,000.

“We want to protect information to protect the integrity of the investigation as Robstown Police Department continues to solve most major crimes within the city and we also want (to) remind the community that we have a family who is handling loss within their family and we need to be sensitive to that,” Robstown Police Department Chief Erasmo Flores said.
