Edinburg mayor turns himself into DPS investigators in connection with 2017 city elections

Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina has turned himself into Texas Department of Public Safety investigators.

KRGV TV reports that DPS officials told them the Texas Attorney General’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Molina for one count of engaging in organized election fraud. That crime is a first-degree felony.

There are also two warrants for illegal voting, a second-degree felony.

The station also reports The Attorney General has obtained an additional arrest warrant for Molina’s wife, Dalia Molina, for one count of illegal voting.

Molina’s arrest stems from voter fraud in Edinburg’s 2017 city election.

Presently, 15 people have been arrested in connection to that election.
