It is a typical tradition to have a fish fry or some kind of seafood for Good Friday. This year, KRIS 6 reached out to La Ribera, off of Morgan Ave, to see how they’re preparing.

La Ribera says people come in just for the good seafood and cheap prices. They plan to be packed during their lunch hours, and have come prepared for the rush. Stocking up on 100lbs of fish and 200lbs of shrimp.
They get the freshest seafood from the seafood market next door, at Morgan St. Seafood Market.

The owner of Morgan’s St. Seafood, Charlie Algeria, says this year has been a bit different because of the bad weather. Algeria says black drum is the most popular but he’s been trying to get in other fish to keep up with the demand, such as grouper, snapper, tuna and mahi.
