Now that the redacted version of the Mueller Report has been released, we spoke with KRIS 6 News political analyst Dr. David Smith about Congress’ next move.
Smith said he’s awaiting release of the entire report before judging what could be next.
“A lot of it is going to depend on what information is going to be released subsequent to the first report,” said Smith, an assistant professor and political science teacher at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. “There’s two parts to it … two volumes if you will.
“So this is the first volume of it, but also the fact that Robert Mueller has been requested to speak to the House Judiciary Committee members by May 23.”
That meeting will eventually determine the next step for Congress, Smith said.
“I believe what he could potentially testify to at the committee hearing could determine the next steps moving forward.”
