Super star Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels have reportedly agreed on a massive contract extension that’s being called the largest deal in pro sports history.

The extension is for 12 years and is worth more than $430-million dollars.

First reported by ESPN’s  Jeff Passan, the deal will pay Trout nearly $36-million per year, eclipsing Zack Greinke’s $34.4-million per year with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It will also pay Trout $100-million more than the $330-million dollar deal Bryce Harper signed with the Phillies earlier this month.

Trout, arguably the best player of his generation, was due to become a free agent after the 2020 season and the Angels just could not let him go.

Trout was the Rookie of the Year in 2012. He’s been named AL MVP twice, in 2014 and 2016. and has finished second in voting four other years.

The seven-time All-Star and six-time Silver Slugger is a career .307 hitter with 240 home runs and 648 rbi’s.

He’s also considered one of the best defensive outfielders in the game.

This new deal means Trout will be with the Angels until he’s 38 years old.
