A Port Aransas restaurant owner who was impacted by Hurricane Harvey was finally getting her business back on track before tragedy struck again.

She now faces another setback after her building caught fire Wednesday morning.

The staff of the La Barataria Restaurant and Wine Bar will need to rebuild once again.

Yellow tape surrounds the outside of the restaurant a day after the fire.

Restaurant owner Lezlie Keebler says the upcoming recovery is another setback she’s going to have to go through. The cause of the fire was an electrical issue from the ceiling that ignited the flames. The fire began in the kitchen.

Keebler says she will rebuild with her team by her side.

“You know we’re going to come back even better,” says Keebler.

Keebler says she is blessed to have insurance, contractors, investors, and support from her resilient Port Aransas community.

The business will lose out on the Spring Break business but staff says more will come later. The business anticipates reopening on April 1.
