The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most valuable properties in professional sports.
Bloomberg News Service reports that Dallas owner Jerry Jones says his team is worth $10 billion and it’s not for sale.

Even at that lofty price — an incredible appreciation from the $140 million Jones bought the team from H.R. “Bum” Bright in 1987 — Jones says his team isn’t for sale.
Now it seems Jerry would never sell his stake. Jones continued to back up his claims, saying he would “rather have the Cowboys than $10 billion.”
He then called the Cowboys a “long-term investment and my immediate family,” showing the extent of his relationship with the organization her purchased nearly 30 years ago.
The Bloomberg Billionaires’ Index conservatively values the team at about $4 billion and Jones’ net worth at $6.04 billion. Jones might have overstated the value, but he’s still taken care of his family for the next several generations by his shrewd investment in the team.
Here’s what Bloomberg reported on Jones’ willingness to sell the team:
Bloomberg – How much would you accept to sell the Cowboys?
Jerry Jones: “If I had to sell the team tomorrow I wouldn’t accept anything less than $10 billion. But, I don’t want to imply that I would take $10 billion for them. The Cowboys are just not for sale. They’re a long-term asset and my immediate family — which has been a part of making them what they are today– they’ll own the Cowboys long after I’m gone.”
Bloomberg – So, would you say the Cowboys are worth $10 billion?
Jerry Jones: “I don’t say $10 billion just to say a ridiculous number. I just think you really have to go on what people would pay. I don’t want to say at least $10 billion but I certainly think you can justify a $10 billion value, but economically I’d rather have the Cowboys than the $10 billion.”
Even before the 5-5 Cowboys beat Philadelphia and Atlanta in recent road games to rekindle their playoff hopes, it’s clearly never a bad day to be Jerry Jones.
