Wednesday, Nueces County Commissioners banned the sale and possession of aerial fireworks in for the summer fireworks season.
That means things like bottle rockets or other fireworks that launch.
The ban applies to unincorporated areas of the county.
Commissioners wanted the ban in place before people buy fireworks for 4th of July celebrations.
The ban will remain in effect until commissioners determine drought conditions no longer exist.
