Corpus Christi PRIDE celebration to begin next week

The Mosaic Project of South Texas will be hosting a series of events in connection to the 4th Annual Corpus Christi PRIDE celebration, to be held from Monday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 12. 

PRIDE Corpus Christi is an annual festival focused on commemorating, educating, and celebrating LGBTQIA+ equality and human rights.  

The public is invited to attend events that celebrate the achievements and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ population within the Coastal Bend and community at large, including a movie night, mixers, a pub crawl, a comedy show and after party, prom nights for youth and adults and a poetry night. 

Also on the schedule, the annual PRIDE Corpus Christi Parade, happening Saturday, June 8 at 3 p.m. with the Honorable Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales serving as Grand Marshal.  

The approximately one-mile parade route begins at Shoreline Boulevard and Mann Street, then runs south along Shoreline Boulevard and ends at Water’s Edge Park (602 S. Shoreline Blvd.), where a block party will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.  

There will be entertainment for the entire family, featuring 9 food-truck vendors located on Park Avenue and a Beer Garden (in partnership with the Police Athletic League), along with booths from civic groups and local businesses, and various arts and crafts displays. Victory Pro Wrestling will also hold six matches and crown the first-ever Pride of Texas Heavyweight Champion.
