Just ahead of a new school year, a local group is gathering once again to ensure that Corpus Christi students get off to a healthy start!
The 12th Annual LEAD First (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, Development) Health and Education Fair will take place Saturday, August 18th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Ray High School Gym (1002 Texan Trail).
In addition to hundreds of free shoe vouchers being available, backpacks with school supplies will also be furnished to the first 1,200 students who attend.
Free screenings and exams will include Sports Physicals and tests for Hearing, Vision, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar.
Immunizations will also be available. Shots are free with proof of Medicaid, and just $10 per vaccine without medical insurance. Parents should bring up-to-date shot records.
As an added bonus, there will be free vehicle emissions testing near the parking lot.
Enjoy entertainment, games and refreshments while browsing community information booths representing various city and county organizations.
