Local middle school no longer allowing backpacks, draw stringbags allowed

A local middle school is banning backpacks starting next school year. Students will instead be required to have draw string book bags.

CCISD in need of bus drivers for upcoming school year

There is a big need for bus drivers at CCSID. The district wants to hire 50 before the start of the upcoming school year.

CCISD campuses adding extra security features to main entrances

In the wake of recent school shootings, CCISD is working this summer to make all of its campuses safer. They’re adding an extra layer of protection to dozens of buildings.

Skimming through the data shows this is a crime trend that’s not just a big problem in the state.

“The Coastal Bend is no stranger to credit card skimming,” said Chief of Police, Eric Blanchard, with the Aransas Pass Police Department.
