A 58-year-old Corpus Christi man has been identified as the victim in a fatal one-vehicle accident on County Road 1612 about 3.5 miles east of Taft in San Patricio County on Sunday afternoon.
Department of Public Safety officials said that David Hinojosa Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
DPS officials said that Hinojosa's Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on County Road 1612. For unknown reasons , the driver veered off the roadway, striking a cement culvert that caused the car to overturn and strike a utility pole on the driver's side of his vehicle.
DPS, Sheriff’s Deputies, and Taft Fire & EMS responded to the scene.
