Crews form Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi responded to a report of a boat on fire near Rockport this morning.
According to the USCG, watchstanders received a radio mayday call just before 7 a.m. reporting a boat on fire in Copano Bay.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter was launched, and once at the scene, crews reported a the boat in tow and sinking.
USCG says no one was onboard the boat at the time of the fire and have issued a Safety Marin Information Broadcast to notify local mariners of the sunken vessel.
Crews from the Incident Management Division of Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi have responded to assess environmental impact and vessel salvage.
