CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — A burned-up trailer blocked lanes of a busy highway Thursday afternoon.
First responders were called out to southbound US Hwy. 77 at around 1 p.m. at the entrance of the city of Bishop.
DPS troopers said the 18-wheeler driver was in his vehicle heading south on 77 when he noticed his empty cab was on fire.
He tried to pull over and jackknifed. Luckily, he and his wife were not injured.
Because of the incident, traffic had to be diverted because the trailer was blocking three to four highway lanes.
