Two people are dead after an ambulance collided with a passenger car on Highway 35 Bypass in Aransas County.

A Nissan Sentra was driving westbound on Moore Avenue when officers say the driver failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of a city services ambulance. The ambulance struck the car and both vehicles rolled over. The driver and passenger of the Nissan, both male, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the ambulance were taken to Spohn Shoreline hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The state crash team is on scene reconstructing the accident and cleaning the roadway. Officials expect for Highway 35 Bypass south to be closed until at least 9 a.m.
